First blog and first post! I’m excited to finally have this thing up and running, the site’s been about a month in the making — design and all and I’m exhausted. I just wanted to have a place to post fun design information and maybe some personal bits too, thus the blog section. I’m aware of the internet fadders saying that blogs are so 2003 and more direct applications, like twitter, are on the rise, but it’s like reading blurbs at the bottom of the screen while you’re watching the news, while it’s helpful it doesn’t replace the content. In any case, this blog section started with me wanting to learn about WordPress and figuring out how to build templates to match my portfolio site. A great tutorial that really helped me out can be found on jestro.com, on how to convert your pre-existing xhtml/css site to WordPress. So a big thanks to them! Working on some tutorials to post as well, it’s a great way to keep the forum open between designers and I know that I often use them to keep growing, so in a way it’s giving back.
